Our vision
Aspirations for 2006-2007
To know Jesus and to make Him Known
We commit ourselves to do this by-
1.Bible teaching programme to equip all members
•A Sunday programme geared to ensure all members receive regular teaching on key matters of doctrine, principles and practice of the Christian faith over a fixed period, with an emphasis on practical application and motivation to "walk the talk"
•A programme of targeted midweek bible teaching to cover all stages of Christian maturity through appropriate housegroup, cell group, nurture and small study group material with an emphasis on practical application
•Encourage members to study the bible daily
2.Mobilisation of the membership to serve the Lord
•Recognise and develop members' gifts and introduce appropriate training where necessary. All members should have the opportunity to attend one relevant course every year and be encouraged to use their gifts in service
•Develop a church wide pastoral care network
•Initiate a wide range of social activities to include all members to build friendships, fellowship and mutual confidence
•Encourage all members to financially support the church by way of regular giving
3.Mission and Service to the Community
•Review and develop our premises to enable them to be used more effectively to serve our local community
•Recognise that youth work is a major tool at Bushey Baptist Church for evangelism and undertake to review our use of facilities and staffing levels with respect to youth work, to capitalises on its strength
•To seek to identify and respond as appropriate to social needs in the local community
•Develop strategies to reach the local neighbourhood with the gospel through church based groups and other forms of evangelism
•Encourage members to link up with members of other local churches and our denomination to be more effective in our outreach to the local community
•Encourage active and informed support and participation in mission at home and abroad. To give a Christian view of current affairs and inform members about missionaries and organisations supported by the church
4.Prayer and Worship
•Encourage members to join a prayer group or prayer chain and pray systematically for members, groups and activities
•Ensure that all activities are covered by prayer and encourage all to meet corporately for prayer
•Develop a range of worship services to meet the needs of a diverse fellowship
